THE death of a woman who passed away during a water therapy session was likely due to the cold water, an inquest heard.
Kellie Jean Poole died on April 25, last year, after she was pulled from the River Goyt in Whaley Bridge during a cold water immersion session.
The 29-year-old from Droylsden was attending the session alongside two friends when she suffered a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
An inquest into her death began yesterday at Chesterfield Coroner's Court.
A doctor said the temperature of the water was 'relevant' to her death and it was recorded at just 10.7C.
