The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is actively surveying the site while municipal workers, following a halt in machine operations for safety reasons, are manually cleaning the structure.
On Saturday, ASI officials oversaw a road excavation to trace the full expanse of the stepwell and an adjacent well. During the process, workers unearthed a section of the road with interlocking tiles, revealing what appeared to be a chamber with four doorways. This discovery strengthened speculation that the well is part of the larger stepwell structure.
