Runners and spectators struggled to reach the capital ahead of today’s event as members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, Aslef, Unite and the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association joined the 24-hour walkout.
Ashfield MP Lee Anderson said: “Just when the whole of the UK needs to come together to beat a world crisis, [RMT general secretary] Mick Lynch and co are dragging their members into a battle with the people of our great country.”
