The maiden bullet train service is slated to run between Surat and Bilimora, as per the announcement made during the 2024 Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Updating on the project’s progress, Vaishnaw stated that 270 kilometers of groundwork for the bullet train have already been completed. Notably, a 270-kilometer-long wire duct has been successfully installed, and the project is progressing as per the designated timeline. Vaishnaw also highlighted the commencement of work on the Mumbai-Thane under-sea tunnel and the rapid construction of bridges over eight rivers along the route, with two bridges already completed. Additionally, the Sabarmati terminal station’s construction is nearing completion.
A significant milestone was achieved with the Ministry of Railways announcing 100 percent land acquisition for the Mumbai- Ahmedabad Rail Corridor, commonly known as the bullet train project, spanning across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
