Scotland may be too brave

Scotland's 57-17 hiding handed to Fiji on Saturday has got all the fans up north excited about their team's prospects against the Springboks in Edinburgh this Sunday.

But what they forget is it's one thing beating Fiji and quite another getting the better of the two-time world champions.

The Boks will go into the game as favourites - rightly so - and even if Scotland were to play their best rugby, recent form and history tell us the Boks will be too good for the Scots.

In 29 meetings between the teams, Scotland have won just five times - in 1906, 1965, 1969, 2002 and 2010; clear proof they struggle against the Boks.
