International Spinal Cord Injury Day, which was marked on Thursday, draws attention to the many ways in which people can be affected by spinal cord injury.
This injury is not just about your mobility

The day creates an awareness of prevention and highlights the possibilities of living a fulfilling life after injury.

The World Health Organisation states that globally, over 15 million people live with spinal cord injuries. Many are caused by trauma, falls, road traffic injuries or personal violence.
