Bhajan Lal Sharma: CM of masses

Congress may find it difficult to regain power if it continues to underestimate him

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma unlike any chief minister or high-ranking individual is often seen around like any other ordinary citizen. He goes to park for morning walk, stops by to sip tea at any random stall like many of us do, chats with people and most importantly now stops at red light with his convoy and patiently waits for it to turn green thereby making every person who looks at him feel that he is one of them. It is such a delightful sight for the people. They are assured that the head of the state is not beyond reach, difficult to access; rather a simple man with whom they can communicate and reach out. There is not the slightest iota of proud of his position. Rather only simplicity which is reflected in his day-to-day actions and his attempts to be among the people.

Having worked extensively among grassroots workers within the BJP organization for an extended period and leading a modest personal life in an ordinary flat in Jaipur, Bhajanlal Sharma consistently stayed connected with the common people. These two aspects have strengthened his position as the Chief Minister representing the interests of the ordinary citizens, despite his high-ranking state position.
