DELHI HIGH COURT SEEKS PUJA KHEDKAR'S RESPONSE ON UPSC'S PLEA ALLEGING PERJURY IN ANTICIPATORY BAIL CASE

The Delhi High Court in the case Puja Khedkar v. State observed and has issued notice on a petition filed by the Union Public Services Commission, UPSC wherein it alleged that former probationer IAS officer Puja Khedkar committed perjury by filing a false affidavit and making a false statement in relation to her anticipatory bail petition.

The bench headed by Justice Subramonium Prasad in the case sought the response of Khedkar who is being accused of misrepresenting and falsifying facts' in her UPSC application.

On July 31, the Union Public Services Commission, UPSC cancelled Khedkar's candidature and has debarred her permanently from all future examinations and selections of the Commission.

The court granted her interim protection from arrest which continues to date.

It has also been alleged by the UPSC that Khedkar, in her counter affidavit to the anticipatory bail petition, made a false statement that the Commission had collected her biometrics.

The Union Public Services Commission, UPSC in the case observed and has rejected the claim arguing that the Commission did not collect any biometrics (eyes and fingerprints) during the personality test of Khedkar's.
