A major issue emerged from the raids carried out by the Special Establishment Police of Lokayukta on the residential premises of a former constable of the transport department, Saurabh Sharma.
The Income Tax Department and police detected 52kg gold worth Rs 40 crore and Rs 11 crore from the vehicle of Chetan Singh Gaur, close to Sharma. The incident took place late Thursday night. The officials of I-T department are probing the case. Such a huge quantity of gold was seized for the first time in Bhopal.
Someone informed the officials of the I-T department and the police that an Innova Crysta vehicle was parked on an empty plot in the Mendori area, Bhopal. The vehicle number is MP 07 BA 0050.
