A nine-year-old brain dead donor from Surat has literally extended a helping hand to Anamta Ahmad, 15, from Goregaon for leading a normal life. In 2022, the latter had lost her right arm due to electrocution, but she didn't slip into despair. After the 12-hour-long surgery done recently, Ahmad became the youngest recipient in Asia and the first globally to undergo a successful shoulder-level limb transplant. The selfless act of the minor's family also made the child the youngest brain dead donor in India.
