Comfort, sustainability, and bold innovation take center stage in 2025

Fashion and change are synonymous with each other. As we step into 2025, we are going to see a focus on merging aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. It would not just be about comfort, it would be about technology, individuality, and setting new standards for personal expression. Let's note trends to dominate the upcoming year and what industry fashionistas have to say.

Mocha mousse

Pantone Color Institute has selected PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse as the Color of the Year 2025. It reflects a shift toward grounded aesthetics. Sneha Yadav, Fashion Analyst & NIFT alumni, highlights its versatility, noting how this earthy brown complements vibrant hues like emerald green and mustard, creating a balanced palette. "The Mocha Mousse (Pantone 17-1230), Pantone color of the year 2025, suggests an abundance of neutral colors and the variety they offer, which challenges our view of earthy colors, in contrast to the previous few years. The hue transcends the modest boundary and enters the opulent and ambitious realm of 2025 fashion trends," she adds. Data trends from leading designers show that Mocha Mousse is expected to dominate across categories - from ethnic wear like lehengas and sarees to modern outerwear, scarves, and accessories. In fusion wear, its understated sophistication pairs well with metallic accents, enhancing its appeal for both festive and everyday use.
