Germany's appeal soars with record-breaking enrolment of global students

Germany is now home to more than 75,000 researchers and around 380,000 students from around the globe, marking an all-time high and setting new records, as per the recent Wissenschaft weltoffen report released by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Germany is now home to more than 75,000 researchers and around 380,000 students from around the globe, marking an all-time high and setting new records, as per the recent Wissenschaft weltoffen report released by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). India is at the top of the contributors for international students in Germany; 49,000 and above 6,700 from India are enrolled as students and researchers in universities there. Based on these statistics, Germany is the European country with the most international students and the world's second most welcomed country after the United States.

DAAD President Prof Dr Joybrato Mukherjee said, "The rising number of international students is also an extremely positive development for our country, which urgently needs more skilled labour. These trends underline Germany's attractiveness as a location for science and study, which is based in particular on the high quality of German universities and research institutions and their international integration."
