The government is confident of adhering to the fiscal deficit target of 5.9%, as a percentage of GDP, in the current financial year ending March, Finance Secretary T.V. Somanathan said on Thursday.
"I am confident that the government will adhere to the fiscal deficit target, which was announced in the Budget...even as individual elements may vary slightly," Somanathan told Informist.
