Include marks from classes 9 to 11 in 12th Board results: NCERT

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has suggested that students' scores from Classes 9 to ll be incorporated in Class 12 Board examination results to bring consistency to the assessment process across the nation, while also aiming to prioritise vocational and skillbased education.

This proposal has been taken from a report titled, 'Establishing Equivalence across Education Boards", submitted by the Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH), a subdivision of NCERT. The report advises a holistic evaluation of students' academic trajectory, by allocating a weightage of 15 per cent to marks from Class 9, 20 per cent to Class 10 marks and 25 per cent to Class II marks. The remaining 40 per cent weightage has been recommended for Class 12.
