Looking ahead: Two new lines of Namma Metro expected to be open

As 2025 beckons, daily commuters in Bengaluru see a sliver of hope as Namma Metro is set to expand more towards the outskirts of the city.

With the Yellow Line awaiting rolling stock and the elevated section of the Pink Line nearing completion, 2025 will see public transport getting augmented in a city overwhelmed with private vehicles, especially four-wheelers. Covering 18.81 kilometers, the Yellow Line from Bommasandra to RV Road is all but ready.

Safety inspections and civil works are complete, and the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is waiting for rolling stock to arrive from Kolkata-based Titagarh Rail Systems.
