Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has had his way in three key Lok Sabha seats thanks to the dilly-dallying by his partners in the ruling Mahayuti government. Though the BJP had been insisting on the Thane seat, Shinde eventually ensured that the seat came his way.
He has got his Man Friday, Naresh Mhaske, nominated as the Mahayuti candidate in Thane, his home turf. The BJP had tried its utmost to field its MLA Sanjay Kelkar from this seat. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has given its ticket to sitting MP Rajan Vichare. Both parties had made a prestige issue of this key seat.
