Nitesh in hate speech row again

BJP MLA Nitesh Rane, who has recently been in the news for controversial hate speeches, has been slapped with two FIRS by the Ahmednagar police. He has been booked in connection with the speeches that included threats to the Muslim community in an agitation organised by the Sakal Hindu Samaj.

Police officials Ahmednagar confirmed that two FIRS have been filed against Rane - one on Sunday and another on Monday - at the Shrirampur and Topkhana police stations.

Rane had addressed public meetings in these areas in support of Hindu seer Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj, who recently faced criticism for making derogatory remarks about Islam and Prophet Muhammad.

During his speeches, Rane threatened consequences if harm came to Maharaj. In a viral video, Rane is heard warning that anyone who speaks against Ramgiri Maharaj will face violence in their mosques.
