The Free Press Journal|November 12, 2024

Permanent medical bail for Naresh Goyal

Goyal, 75, had been granted interim medical bail on May 6 after being diagnosed with cancer requiring surgery, on furnishing a surety of Rs one lakh. He was also directed not to leave Mumbai without prior permission from the special court. This interim bail was extended from time to time.

Justice N J Jamadar made his interim medical bail 'absolute'. "In the light of the consideration which weighed with this court in granting interim bail and the subsequent material on record which indicates that the applicant continues to be sick and infirm, I am inclined to make the order of interim bail absolute," Justice Jamadar said.
