The communal violence that erupted following the stone pelting on Ganesha pandal in Syedpura, Surat, late Sunday night has an Uttar Pradesh connection. In a major revelation, authorities have acquired substantial proof that the culprits involved in stone pelting are from Uttar Pradesh and that the entire event was pre-planned. They (the accused) arrived in Surat, obtained motorcycles from friends and relatives in the city, and parked their vehicle about 2.5 kilometers from the Ganesha pandal in Syedpura.They arrived with backpacks full of stones as part of a bigger scheme to incite communal unrest in Surat.
