The grant of bail by the Supreme Court on Thursday to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor policy case was hailed by his Aam Aadmi Party as "victory of truth" while BJP demanded that he step down from the post as the apex court only granted him conditional bail and rejected his plea for striking down the case.
Former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who was also arrested in the case but released on bail last month, posted on X: "Today again, the truth has won in the fight against lies and conspiracies." AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who was also earlier granted bail by the SC in the case, said, "Dictatorship will not work in democracy.
Dictators bow down, someone who fights is needed." He attacked prime minister Narendra Modi and BJP for putting opposition leaders behind bars and wrote: "Modi's tyrannical rule could not break the spirit of Arvind Kejriwal. The prison locks were broken, Arvind Kejriwal was released. A mountain of lies is falling. ED, CBI, BJP's false case has been exposed.
