STEVEN Schumacher described Plymouth Argyle reaching 50 points at only the midway stage of the League One season as a brilliant achievement' after their 1-0 Boxing Day defeat of Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road.
The Pilgrims are top of League One after winning 15 of their 23 games this season and have now played all of the other sides in the division.
Argyle clinched victory over Cheltenham with an excellent 78th-minute strike from Morgan Whittaker for the eighth goal of his loan from Championship club Swansea City.
Schumacher admitted it would be difficult for Argyle to keep up the pace they are on but called on the players to keep believing in themselves after they hit the 50-point mark.
He said: "It's a brilliant achievement. I think we are the second team in the EFL to get 50 points behind Leyton Orient so it just shows how well everyone has done, but it's only halfway.
