A FUNDRAISING effort is underway for the son of a former Plymouth Argyle player who has a fast-growing type of blood cancer but is ineligible for treatment on the NHS.
Former Pilgrim Jakub Sokolik has been left struggling with debts due to the cost of treatment for his son Jakub Jr, a three-year-old who has B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
Having come from the Czech Republic to play initially for Liverpool, and had a career which has seen him also play for Torquay United, Yeovil Town and Southend United, Jakub has been forced to pay for his son’s treatment as he is ineligible for care on the NHS.
