PLYMOUTH City Council's latest bid to halt the legal battle over the chopped-down Armada Way trees is due to be heard in court this week.
The authority will be given 20 minutes to argue its position before a High Court judge on Thursday. The council wants the court to consider stopping a judicial review brought by protesters from Save the Trees of Armada Way (Straw) - just three months after a judge said the hearing should go ahead.
The newly elected Labour administration had claimed the proceedings were "academic" because it had sent the £12.7 million Armada Way redevelopment scheme back to the drawing board.
