THE site of a demolished Plymouth pub which has planning permission for a skyscraper has been a temporary makeover thanks to a host of artists, the council and administrators.
In October 2022, The Herald reported how the site of Plymouth's demolished Good Companions pub went on sale and could potentially be turned into a 17-storey tower of student flats with shops and restaurants.
The city centre site has been derelict since the pub was knocked down in 2017 and the then lease-owner Burrington Estates put it on the market.
The site in Mayflower Street was then marketed by Savills with existing planning permission for a skyscraper of between 13 and 17 floors containing 267 student bedrooms, plus retail and leisure space and offices.
