Book of poetry that looks to the future, not back

PLYMOUTH poet Norman Jope’s new collection looks to the past – to shape the future.

His book, , contains poems written between 2010 and 2016 which have a roughly unifying theme which Norman terms “active nostalgia”.

“Nostalgia is either passive or active,” he said. “Passive is looking back and thinking the best is gone. Active is looking at the past and how it can get better in future. So active nostalgia is future oriented rather than backward oriented.”
