PLYMOUTH-FOUNDED family business Lawsons, which was started in the city 120 years ago, has been put up for sale due to the lack of an heir willing to take over the firm.
The business, known for its range of cookware and kitchen items, shut its Plymouth shop in 2020, but still has outlets in Ivybridge, Tavistock and Totnes.
The family have said they wish the business to be sold as a going concern in order to preserve jobs and ensure the brand carries on.
The first Lawsons was a shop supplying tools to workers at Devonport Dockyard. It was opened by Tom Lawson in 1904, on what was then Frankfort Street, Plymouth.
