C WEST DIVISION

There were three wickets each for miserly new-ball operator Andy Bees (3-8 off 9) and Adam Goodliffe (3-17) that helped skittle Babbacombe for 130 with more than five overs unbowled.

Aiden Lightowlers made a top score of 26 for Babbacombe from a titanic stay of 91 balls. Steve Broad (24) and young Josh Thompson (25) were the only other batters in double figures.

Cornwood lost opener Josh Goodliffe two balls into their reply, but the only other casualty was Ewan Horner at 14 for two.

Surviving opener Charles Finan (80no) and Sam Griffiths (26no) put on 91 unbroken to win the match with more than 13 overs to go.

Victory takes Cornwood up to third in the table at the expense of Ivybridge, who lost by an identical eight-wicket margin away to Yelverton.

■ IVYBRIDGE got to 61 for three before trouble struck with four wickets falling getting from there to 77 for seven. Top scorer Cebo Tshiki (31) was among the departees as Lachlan Curtis (2-26) got to work.

Phil Warwick (28) and Luca Turner (21) fought back for a while to get the Bridge up to 128 all out.

Mike Lemmings returned to take on more wicket for a three-for-30 haul and there were two each for Curtis, Andy Birkett and Alex Shutt.

Yelverton lost wickets at 67 (Lemmings, 32) and 117 (Rob Grove, 25) on their way to winning in just 14 overs.

Man of the match Curtis carried his bat for 69 not out from 36 balls as Yelverton surged to victory.

■ PLYMOUTH 2nd XI crashed to a nine-wicket defeat away to leaders Stoke Gabriel in a one-sided affair.

Sam White played a typically aggressive knock that produced 42 off just 25 balls in Plymouth’s all-out total of 128. Opener Ollie Parsons laboured for 78 balls over the next best score of 26.
