VITAL building work and repairs will be carried out at five city schools over the summer with the help of a £200,000 investment from Plymouth City Council.
The repairs have been identified by the council's education team as the most urgent to be completed this summer. The council is responsible for major maintenance works to local-authority maintained schools and receives a limited capital grant from the Government to carry out major works.
Academies are responsible for their own building maintenance and can apply directly for funding from the Department of Education.
The following schools will undergo major repair work:
■ Cann Bridge School: Repair of the hydrotherapy pool, which supports students with sensory needs and physiotherapy
