A £50m skyscraper planned for Plymouth’s waterfront would – at 30 storeys high – tower over every other building in the city.
Developers are working on plans for the Shepherds Wharf tower which, if given approval, would be the tallest building in the city, and the South West, and seven floors higher than the Beckley Point student flats.
The team behind the plan envisages a 10-floor rectangular apartment block with the “elegant” sky-scraping tower next to it creating a “gateway building” for the city.
The two residential buildings would contain about 200 flats, with restaurants, shops and commercial space on the ground floor and mezzanine.
