ROONEY HAILS THE PERFORMANCE OF NEW GOALKEEPER
CHRIS ERRINGTON
EXCELLENT GRIMSHAW

WAYNE Rooney described the performance of Dan Grimshaw as 'excellent' after the Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper made his Championship debut for the club in the 3-2 victory over Sunderland at Home Park on Saturday.

Grimshaw, who was signed from League One outfit Blackpool towards the end of the summer transfer window after Michael Cooper moved to Sheffield United, thought the 'atmosphere was special' as the Pilgrims ended the 100 per cent start to the season of the Black Cats.

There has been a significant change to the goalkeeping department at Argyle, not only with the departure of Cooper but also the ankle ligament injury to Conor Hazard, which is expected to rule out the Northern Ireland international for around three months.
