A TORPOINT family have spoken of their shock after their sweet-natured cat was shot in the spine with an air rifle and left for dead.
Rolo, a chocolate British shorthair, was found collapsed in his garden in Torpoint at the weekend.
It is believed the incident took place sometime on Sunday in Trevithick Avenue and left the feline in critical condition. His owner, Jodie-Mae Stenning, said the "horrible incident" has left the family "deeply saddened".
Rolo, who has been described as a "good boy" who is "so gentle" with her newborn baby, was tragically found with the loss of use of his back legs with the pellet lodged in his spine. "Our lovely Rolo is part of our family," she said. "And we cannot believe that a sick individual could do this."
