WHEREVER Lewis Gibson goes he sees supporters, whether young or old, wearing Plymouth Argyle shirts and that has only added to his sense of satisfaction over his summer move to Home Park.
Gibson, 23, spent six years at Everton after coming through the academy at Newcastle United and was offered a new contract to extend his stay on Merseyside.
However, the former England youth international thought it was time for a fresh start and he had good a feeling about Argyle about visiting the club and talking to manager Steven Schumacher.
Everything he has seen and experienced since joining the Pilgrims has vindicated his decision to move to the far south-west of England.
The central defender has previously played in two-club cities such as Liverpool and Sheffield - he had a loan spell with Wednesday - so it is very different in Plymouth.
Gibson said: "I think what's quite special around here, it's in the middle of nowhere, it's quite far down. There is no clubs around it.
"One thing I can say, driving into football every morning I can guarantee on the way in is there is going to be someone with an Argyle shirt on, which I think is quite nice.
"Everyone around the area, within how many miles, is all Argyle fans so I suppose that's probably the main difference I would say.
"Some of the clubs I have been at in the past, it's kind of a two-club city whereas this is one club and it's the heartbeat of the city."
