A FOUR-man rowing team led by a Plymouth-based Royal Marine have departed from Norway on their 550 nautical-mile world record attempt to cross the Arctic Ocean.
The Ocean Revival Arctic rowing team, led by skipper Matt Mason, left Tromsø on Saturday and are now attempting to reach Svalbard in the high North – a journey expected to take them 10-15 days.
Plymouth-based Royal Marine Matt Mason was also skipper of the first team to row from New York to London, while the team also includes Royal Marine Matt Ingles, and Somerset-based businessmen Mark Sealey and Colin Hiscock.
