'Hard work to improve our school has paid off'

A PLYMOUTH head teacher has spoken of her delight after Ofsted upgraded her school’s rating at its latest inspection.

High Street Primary Academy in Stonehouse was deemed “good” in all categories, after the school’s previous inspection in 2019 declared it was “inadequate” and needed significant improvements.

Pupils at the school, part of Reach South Academy Trust, “enter school each morning excited to begin learning”, inspectors said. Their report noted that “pupils, staff and parents want High Street Primary Academy to be the best that it can be”.

Ofsted also highlighted the work of the academy trust, as “trust leaders provide support and challenge to school leaders. They have been a crucial part of the school’s development”.
