Head's vape warning as more pupils in hospital

A PLYMOUTH headteacher says she feared there would be a fatality after the number of school pupils needing hospital treatment for using vapes laced with drugs was going 'through the roof.

Anita Frier, headteacher of Stoke Damerel Community College and Scott Medical and Healthcare College, told a Plymouth City Council public health panel that staff had asked for action after a rise in the number of pupils falling ill as a result of using vapes containing THC psychoactive constituent of cannabis - and the synthetic drug spice.

Ms Frier told the city council's Children, Young People and Families Scrutiny panel that she feared a fatality.
