Hobbs happy as Parkway are rewarded for their resilience

PLYMOUTH Parkway manager Lee Hobbs hailed to character of his side as they dug deep for a point in their Southern League Premier Division clash at Dorchester Town.

After dominating the first half, but failing to take one of the several good chances they created, Parkway were reduced to ten men two minutes into the second when defender Shane White was booked for a strong challenge. He then picked up a second for contesting the decision with the referee, who sent him off.

Dorchester went on to dominate the rest of the game, but without scoring and Hobbs was delighted to return to Plymouth with a hard earned point and a performance he was even happier with.

“To play a whole half with ten men, away from home, with a vociferous crowd getting behind the home team is testament to who we are at this moment in time,” Hobbs said.

“It is no secret and I bang the drum relentlessly about how resilient we are and how character and personality will get us 15-20 points a year and that is testament to it and it shows exactly how far we’ve come.

“I was disappointed with the referee today. I didn’t feel he had one of his better games and to issue us with five or six yellow cards and then a red card when a player is asking and explaining something just summed up his afternoon.
