A HOSPITAL where a Cornish mental health blogger and two other women died within eight weeks has been criticized by the health watchdog.
Beth Matthews took her own life while staying at the Cheadle Royal Hospital, also known as The Priory, in Cheshire, last year.
The 26-year-old from Menheniot, just outside Liskeard, died on March 21, 2022, having swallowed a poisonous substance at the secure mental health ward near Stockport where she was a patient after being detained under the Mental Health Act.
Beth, a former pupil at Devonport High School for Girls in Plymouth, was a mental health blogger with 26,000 followers on social media, posting about her struggles and her recovery.
She was classed as a "highly vulnerable" patient at high risk of suicide, receiving supervision, on-one and her high-risk category meant she was not allowed to open her own post.
