HUNDREDS of people have signed a petition in opposition to Plymouth's proposed 20mph zone.
Professional driver Jason Shopland has launched the campaign against what he is branding a "Tudor tax" in reference, he says, to the way "low paid" people were taxed in the 16th-century (rather than to council leader Tudor Evans).
In less than three days the petition -titled 'stop the 20mph zones in Plymouth (Tudor tax)' had gained more than 270 signatures on the Change.org website. The petition said: "The introduction of 20mph zones in Plymouth has raised several concerns among residents and drivers.
