Low temperatures are now the worry for Hobbs' Parkway

AFTER a spell of persistent rain has seen Plymouth Parkway matches postponed in recent weeks, it is now the prospect of freezing temperatures that is threatening to cause further disruption to their Southern League Premier Division fixture schedule.

Lee Hobbs' side were without a match yet again at the weekend as rainfall on Friday meant their Bolitho Park pitch just could not cope and the clash with Winchester City was the latest in a long line of games that fell victim to the elements.

There is no rain predicted in the most recent forecast, but the clear overnight skies mean plummeting temperatures and they are now the worry for Hobbs and Parkway who are due to welcome Didcot Town to Bolitho Park this evening.

"It's so frustrating right now and as you say, it could be from one extreme to the other now, going from the wet and rain to ice," Hobbs said. "I don't know what it's going to be like; I started work early this morning and there was no ice on my windscreen, but I have seen a weather warning.
