Mothers team up to boost women's health

TWO professional mothers are joining forces to launch a directory to help women of all ages gain access to the health services they need but might not know are available.

Physiotherapist Kate Wilsmore and pilates instructor Cassie Monck, have launched Female Headquarters, with a mission of improving access to classes and other facilities for women in Plymouth.

Their main offering will be a website directory of local services to support both local businesses and local women. They will also be running events, an online blog and a scheduling page so people can see all of the local classes available on a day-to-day basis.

They are launching the business with an event on July 18 called “The Mum Edition”. New mums to come and meet each other at Devonport Market Hall, where they can also chat to local businesses who provide services for new mums, attend a mini pilates class and listen to three informative short talks about postnatal health.

Kate said a recent survey called “Women’s health – let’s talk about it” highlighted how difficult it was for women to access women’s health services as well as information about women’s health.
