New pairings have tough battle
The Herald|November 02, 2023
TWO new pairings in Men’s Division B had a tough battle and ended up with exactly the same points until the bonus points were added on. Alex Stephenson and Dom Sivewright managed to clinch the win despite a dominant second set performance by Andrew Regan and Pete Ireland 6-4 1-6 6-3.
DAVE AND SUE GALE
New pairings have tough battle

In Ladies A division Sue Newberry and Sue Gale played Luisa Warring and Sandra O’Sullivan. Sue and Sue played strongly in the first two sets using slices and drop shots with some good forehands by Sue N and good serving from Sue G to win the first two sets. Luisa and Sandra rallied strongly in the third set and this combined with the two Sues losing a bit of energy meant that Luisa and Sandra soon went into a four nil lead. Sue and Sue rallied slightly but Luisa and Sandra took the third set. Sue and Sue won overall 6-2 6-3 2-6.

Chris Janes and Andrew Leigh played on consecutive nights. The first against Chris Welland and Varun Philip. It was a close match at one set all but Chris and Varun lasted the course better and won 6-4 4-6 6-1.
