Play Argyle star on the stage
The Herald|March 30, 2024
YOU could say it's less a game of two halves and more one of three acts. A city playwright is looking for players of a different sort to star as Plymouth Argyle's FA Cup heroes.
Play Argyle star on the stage

Rick O'Shay particularly needs someone to play John Hore, the manager who led the Pilgrims to the cup semi-final in 1985.

He's also on the lookout for thespians to star as rugged defender Lindsay Smith, midfield dynamo Leigh Cooper and goal ace Tommy Tynan But he most needs to find his John Hore, a central character in Rick's new play Believe.

The drama tells of how 40 years ago Argyle fought to the last four in the world's oldest football knockout, despite staving off relegation from the old third division.

The play could be performed as early as August this year, so finding the right actor is a must before the current football season ends.

"It has to be someone aged about 30 to 40, white, no facial hair and with a bit of acting experience - it's a pivotal role," said Rick.
