The A team’s second pair of Alison Miles and Olivia Tunnicliff had close matches against both B team pairs but the B team pairs won both after tiebreaks.

The A team’s first pair of Fiona Crutchley and Nicky Trevaskis won both matches with consistently good play securing the overall win 54-40 Mannamead B were missing some of their regular players when they played Tavistock A and it showed with Tavi winning 68-27.

Tavi’s first pair of Hilary Picton and Frances Lindsay convincingly beat Anna Tickle and Margaret Banyard and had to sit out for almost an hour while Tavistock’s second pair of Olivia Clark and Lucy Hillman battled to a hardfought win over Mannamead’s Linda Trebilcock and Roanna George.

Menheniot’s Tam Hemming and Lucy Matthews were taken to championship tie-breaks in both their matches against Yelverton B.

Lucy played great tennis despite having completed the 3-Peaks Challenge only 24 hours prior to the match as Menheniot won 68-27.

In Division 1, Devonshire A played their B team and were dominant 70-14 winners. However, the B team pair of Chris Parker and Georgia Jones played well to take the first set off Ruby Watson and Mae Dartnell and force a Championship tie-break.

Top of the league St Budeaux A came out on top against last year’s winners Mannamead A winning 60-24, while Yelverton A beat Ivybridge A 72-5.

Division 3 saw Looe A’s Silvia Racca and Melissa Hocking take the first set when they took on Hill Lane’s Stephanie D’Haussey and Bev Urbans, but the tide turned and they lost the second set before they dug deep and took the Championship tie-break to win the match as Looe A came out 52-36 winners.
