Both men are at opposite ends of their managerial careers, with Schumacher aged 39 while Warnock is still going strong at 74, but share the fact they have both led Argyle to promotion.
Warnock did it all the way back in 1996, with a play-off final win against Darlington at Wembley, while Schumacher led the Pilgrims to the League One title just in May.
The pair have built up a good relationship, bonded by that common interest in Argyle, with Warnock still living in south-east Cornwall and regularly attending games at Home Park last season before being tempted out of retirement by Huddersfield in February.
Schumacher said: “I spoke to him on Monday. He’s okay, he’s in good spirits, he’s looking forward to the game.
