Shoppers accused of misuse of car park

A PRIVATE car park is being "taken advantage of" amid a wider parking issue in Callington.

Visitors to the Cornish town are said to be using a 'customer-only' car park while "not bothering" to visit the shops that own and maintain it.

Colin's of Callington is one of the shops affected. The owner said inconsiderate motorists will block other people, take up multiple spaces and sometimes remain for hours at a time, causing huge inconvenience.

The issue has become so severe that on busy days there is no room for customers of the three shops the car park belongs to. Reacting to the situation, locals say some are "taking the mick" and should be supporting those shops if they are cheeky enough to use the spaces.
