Tavistock have it all to do against league leaders

FEW would have given a depleted Tavistock much chance of getting anything from their midweek trip to Bishops Cleeve and fewer still will fancy their chances of taking anything from tomorrow's Southern League Division One trip to leaders Yate Town.

Despite a promising startin midweek, Tavi were undone shortly before half-time with two goals in as many minutes, both of which left manager Stuart Henderson frustrated when he reflected on what ended up being a 3-0 defeat at Kayte Lane.

But while the scoreline looks harsh, Henderson was not too despondent and saw enough from his players to know things could have been different with a little rub of the green and by doing the basics better, especially in defending crosses that led to those first two goals.

Tomorrow, Tavi will look to respond when they return up the M5 to Yate, who have lost just once in the league so far this season and were 5-1 winners when the two teams met at Lodge Road last season.

"No one will give us as prayer going up there, but you have to take the positives out of Tuesday because there was some," Henderson said.
