ST Mellion Veteran Golfers
WELL, Storm Agnes certainly disrupted plans this week as she caused the postponement of the Fossils trip to Dartmoor to take on Tavistock in their return leg of this year’s match. Hopefully it can be rearranged.
Thankfully the effects of the storm had disappeared by Thursday but the players in the Ryder Cup competition had overcast but dry conditions throughout although that changed dramatically later in the day and no wind.
To no surprise the Kernow course was soft and the greens a little slower but otherwise immaculate. Although the ‘real’ Ryder Cup in Rome had not got underway on Thursday, the Fossils roving ambassador, Tony Prout was there keeping an eye on matters and sending updates and no doubt pondering what’s happening back at base.
