ENERGY security is coming under a lot of pressure because of geopolitical pressure and climate change, chief economic advisor (CEA) of India, V Anantha Nageswaran said Thursday.

'Energy security at risk because of geopolitical pressure, climate change'

Energy security is the single biggest threat for India to sustain the growth rate which it has attained over the past 2-3 years.

"There is a lot of emphasis from the developed world on emissions mitigation. No doubt, it is important and no doubt, there is global warming. No doubt, it means addressing. But it is equally important for developing country there is adequate and affordable energy for powering economic growth," Nageswaran said.
