
COINCIDING with the visit of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to India from March 16-20, talks for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is back on the table. Both countries are also set to enhance defence cooperation during the five-day visit.
India and New Zealand had been pursuing a free trade relationship through two tracks: bilateral FTA negotiations and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
The last formal round of negotiations for the bilateral New Zealand-India FTA took place in Delhi in February 2015.
