NDA meets ahead of assembly polls

THE Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to be strategizing for the upcoming Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, with discussions about potentially allocating two or three seats to its Bihar-based allies, Janata Dal (United) (JDU) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

While no official statement has been made following a marathon meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders at the BJP headquarters late on Tuesday evening, sources indicate that the BJP might consider these allies for constituencies in Delhi where there is a significant Poorvanchal (eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar) voter base. This demographic plays a crucial role in deciding the outcome of some constituencies.

According to sources, areas in Delhi such as Seemapuri, Burari, Sangam Vihar, and others with significant Poorvanchali populations are being considered by the BJP for efforts to garner support for the NDA, potentially by involving allies like JDU or LJP.
